I had the pleasure of photographing “S”, a woman that is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. We had a wonderful time, full of laughs and jokes and (ahem,) wine. You could see how nervous she was at first. But as we got into the hair, makeup and the session, she soon relaxed and was able to be herself…. confident and gorgeous! enjoy!

I had the wonderful opportunity of having Miss “A” all to myself one day last week. We had an adventure at the park. When I look at these images, I can hear her giggle, laugh and squeal. I love her contemplative expressions. I love to watch her sense of adventure and her fearlessness. It was an unforgettable and so fun experience! Enjoy!

I have a new line for my studio. I still love photographing and being around children. But I have found that making women feel beautiful through an experience of hair, makeup and photographing them in the most flattering way is a new passion of mine. I have the privilege of working with a professional makeup artist that is an expert for knowing just what to do for each woman. I have the same privilege to work with a wonderful professional hair stylist that has a wealth of knowledge in her area of expertise. They both have the personalities that are calming and at the same time, make the client feel excited about her upcoming adventure in front of the camera. Do you like to be pampered? Have you been made to look and feel truly beautiful , confident and soulful, inside and out? I believe that every girl deserves to feel that experience…to experience that fantasy…the fantasy that is your reality.
Belle Vous, Contemporary Portraiture…”Beautiful You”…is for every mom, every sister, every friend, every wife, every woman. It is for you.
Mrs. “L” came in for us to have our first session. She is a beautiful woman, even before makeup. She graciously agreed to allow me to post her before and after. But with how she looks, she need not be concerned about it. LOL! We all had a wonderful time. She said she felt like a celebrity, had fun and loved the experience.
Here is her before and after.

Here is a link to a short video that I have posted on Facebook that has some of her images from her session. The video is on the first post. Copy and paste the link and ….Enjoy!

I have been so neglectful in keeping my blog up to date. Ugh…. So many places to let everyone know what is going on with Short Stories. This newsletter has information about the client favorite…Fall Families. The sessions will be, weather permitting, held outside in a beautiful setting that hopefully will be blessed with fall colors. If the fall colors are not there, at least the smiling faces of your family will be. If it is raining, well then, we can always schedule studio sessions to take their place. But I am going to hold hope for nice weather. The sessions are going to be October 19th and 20th. They book fast, so if you plan to get in on this great special, call soon. There will not be an “on- location session fee and minimum order requirement” for these…..AND…the session fee will turn into a print credit! I believe that these sessions are so important. They can show how your family has changed, how the children have grown and how much you all mean to each other. Sighhhh…one of my favorites. Anyway, here is the link for my September newsletter. Share it if you like.

We all got up earlier one day (well, I did) this past week and had fun outside at a client’s house. It was beautiful out there! They have a fabulous yard and beautiful trees and landscaping. The boys liked playing on the swings and slide though. So what should we do? Let’s go play on the swings and slide…..and play some baseball…and just be adorable. Sometimes, you gotta go with the flow. I did, and am happy I did. Enjoy!

“C” was a hoot! He did this thing when he drank or ate anything that looked like he was in a trance. Like a…. close eyes slightly and “mmmmm” …kind of look. It was hilarious. He was really handsome in his jacket too. Well, he was handsome no matter what he had on. Enjoy!

Well, here is Mr “H”. He will steal your heart. He will make you say “Awwwww”. He is an adorable little cowboy. I am one lucky girl to get to photograph him and his family. I have had a quite a few newborns and their families in here recently, and he did not let me down in the cuteness category. Enjoy!

Well, I know that many of you know my story of how my daughter and granddaughter moved away…three hours away. I know, I know…not that far. Anyway, we took her on vacation with us and had a wonderful time. Too short of a time, but wonderful none the less. I am the fuddy duddy that won’t get in the smaller lake because of swimmer’s itch possibilities so “L” and Papaw got in every day. So I just take their pictures of the fun they had. She even agreed to have a “session” in some weeds in a field, despite my looking her over very closely to check for ticks and other bugs in between shots. LOL! This first image is one that I took after they conquered Magic Rock. Magic Rock is a rock that was so named by my husband and his sister when they were little. We have made it our quest that you must climb out on it after the long hike to get to it….now matter how far out it will be in Lake Michigan because of the tide or time. Here are the two successful climbers this year.

We had our session too despite the many other things there are to do while visiting Michigan. She wanted to do it because, quoting her, it “is what I (meaning me) love to do”. Here is one of the locations in the field that she so graciously and willingly plopped down in the weeds…..”here is a great spot, Nana!” Love that girl. I won’t get into how I miss them both or how those unexpected times come up that remind me they are not 12 minutes away. I did that in my newsletter. LOL! Enjoy!

I was so happy to see these three. They are so full of personality and spunk. You can see each one shine through in their eyes and their images. “N” is the more reserved and “grown up” of them all. “E” is full of sassy in the fun kind of way along with some of her sweet expressions. Now, “G” is the youngest and he has some sweet, shy looks…..but he also has a really mischievous expression that will melt your heart. I am going to save that one for mom when she has her design session. Teehee. Put them all together and you have the wonderful “C” children that will totally melt your hearts too. Enjoy!

Oh! Mr “C” was here with his older brother and sister. You may recognize those two from last fall in their 4 year old session. They adore Mr “C”! He is so squishy and precious! I wanted to just touch those cheeks all day. Maybe that is why he likes to sleep with his hand up next to his cheeks? Enjoy!
